Hot Recordings Out Now-June 2021!

Ruben Blades with Roberto Delgado & Orchestra Salswing! Ruben Blades Productions  Iconic vocalist Ruben Blades has mixed Salsa, Jazz and Swing music into an intoxicating brew.  Ruben can go from an updated version of his Salsa classic “Paula C” to “Ya No Me Duele” which beautifully combines Swing to Salsa music to his wonderful interpretation of the standard “Watch What Happens”.  An exciting tour-de-force for Ruben backed up by the versatile and powerful big band led by Panamanian bassist Roberto Delgado!

Sonora Ponceña Hegemonia Musical La Buena Fortuna The legendary Puerto Rican orchestra led by pianist Papo Lucca come roaring back with a fine recording. Their latest set features the three singles Salsa Que Cura To’, Los Palos and Jubileo 65 that they released during the COVID year. Among the additional treats on this recording is la Poncena’s collaboration with the Orquesta La Criolla De Luis Samo giving the tune “Nadie Toca Como Yo” a swinging Charanga feel and the soulful Latin Jazz of “Caminando Con Mi Padre“. Well worth picking up!

Alain Perez/Issac Delgado/Orquesta Aragon Cha Cha Cha: Homenaje A Lo Tradicional Egrem/El Cerrito Records Two of Cuba’s biggest star talents join forces with the champagne of Charangas to give a unique collaborative tribute to the Cha Cha Cha. There is a variety of fine music that is beautifully sung and performed by Alain Perez and Issac Delgado backed by the impeccable musicianship of Orquesta Aragon. All 3 of these musical forces shine brightly on this recording. Kudos to locally based El Cerrito Records for their partnership with the major Cuban label Egrem in putting out this gem.

Other full length recordings you should look out for: El Gran Combo “En Cuarantena”, Various Artists “En Barranquilla Me Quedo-Homenaje a Joe Arroyo, Alexander Abreu y Havana d’Primera “Sera Que Se Acabo”, Maichel Blanco Y Combinacion Cubano “Lo Mio Es Otra Cosa” and The Latin Heartbeat Orchestra “El Camino”.

More to come. Keep on top of my posts! Ciao 4 now!!
