WorldSalsaRadio.com has completed 4 months on the air! The station features a mix of on-air hosts made up of established radio personalities, salsa congress DJ’S, musicians and ethnomusicologists from around the world. The station broadcasts 24 hours every day and the program schedule and profiles of the DJ’s are available on the web site. My program “Sabiduria Con Tumbao” airs Wednesdays from 5 to 7 pm PST featuring artist profiles, The 6 at 6 pm saluting a theme or artist(s), an explosive mix of Salsa, Afro-Latin and Musica Cubana, interviews and more! WorldSalsaRadio.com will be celebrating their 5th month Anniversary with a marathon featuring sets by the on-air staff of WorldSalsaRadio.com on Saturday, December 19th from 5 am to 9 pm PST. Congratulations to the dynamic team of Oscar and Kenya Autie of SF Bay Area based El Cerrito Studios. who produced and engineered the Latin Grammy award winning recording “Flamenco Sin Fronteras” by renowned Spanish Flamenco guitarist Antonio Rey. Rey won in the category of best Flamenco album for 2020. “Flamenco Sin Fronteras” showcases Rey’s rapid fire virtuosity and seductive compositions. Kenya co-produced the album with Rey while Oscar mixed, recorded and mastered the recording. The sound is impeccable and the Recording Academy agreed. Keep up the good work and putting out the great recordings.

Live on your internet. DJ Walt Digz is still continuing his “El Rumbon” timba drenched Wednesday nights from 7 to 10 pm on Twitch.tv. Walt who is one of the most influential timba DJs in the United States, co-founded the long running montlly “La Tropi-Cal” timba parties with Añejo Productions. His legendary Wednesday night timba party at the old Bissap Baobab up until the pandemic hit in March were always packed. Now Digz has taken his Wednesday party on-line complete with videos, shout outs and slammin modern Cuban dance music……In other DJ streaming news, the Co-Beat Party which feature primarily DJ turntablists from around the world playing salsa and mambo sets is still going strong on Facebook despite attempts by FB to cut sets short. Livestreams and videos on-line: Caught the smooth sounds of the multi-talented Omar Ladesma Jr. and the exquisite guitarist/vocalist Rolando Morales duo…..Sonero Felix Samuel of La Moderna Tradicion fame with a tasty tune from his cd “En La Habana” accompanied by Vission Latina’s Marco Diaz, Saul Sierra, Carlos Caro and daughter Odalys Caro on piano…Percussionist Rene Escovedo’s trio with bassist/vocalist Carlitos Franco and veteran pianist Gary Flores. Live musical segments from Salsera Choco Orta, Spanish pianist Alex Conde, Cuban phenom Omar Sosa, Havana D’Primera, Cano Estremera, Chick Corea and the Charlie Barrera trio among others…..Pacific Mambo Orchestra has officially joined the bill for the Tempo-Latino festival in Vic Fezensac, France. PMO will be opening for Los Van Van on opening night July 29th, 2021. Also appearing will be Issac Delgado, Alain Perez, Interactivo and the London Afrobeat Collective. during the 3 day festival through Sunday, Aug. 1, 2021. The festival also included all night parties with renowned DJ’s, bands performing on the grounds all day and the village transforms itself into a bacchanal celebrating Latin music.
