New Recordings 9/26/2020

The renowned trio of Vision Latina consisting of pianist/trumpeter Marco Diaz, bassist Saul Sierra and percussionist Carlos Caro (pictured left – photo by Luis Medina) have released an exciting new single “El Pan De Juan”. The single features the fresh new presence of guest vocalist Alberto Alberto along with percussionist Julio Perez who performs live dates with the group. All 3 core members of Vision Latina are in-demand musicians who performs with groups ranging from the John Santos Sextet and Bobi Cespedes to Los Tigres Del Norte. The new single has a Cuban timba drenched flavor with Alberto’s passionate vocalizing that is intoxicating. Check out their Facebook page for more information.

Charismatic Spanish Harlem Orchestra vocalist Marco Bermudez has come out with a great new recording “En Mi Voz” on SHO bandleader Oscar Hernandez’s new record label Ovation. Bermudez wrote 3 of the compositions on this sparkling production where he is joined by Hernandez, SHO and special guests such as Fania All Stars trombone legend Reinaldo Jorge and former SHO vocalist Willy Torres. Bermudez showcases his supple voice on such tunes as “Flor De Azalea“, “Canto A Mi Mama” and “El Toston De Maria”.

Other new worthwhile recordings out this week….“El Sonero Del Bailador” by the Paris All Stars under the direction of producer Eric Maldonado and featuring the vocals of veteran sonero Pichie Perez (ex Sonora Ponceña). The Santiago All Stars from Chile have returned with a swinging new single “Tu A La Mala Y Yo A La Buena” featuring vocalist Simon Jeame. This is the Santiago All Stars follow up to their two singles “Quedate En Casa” and “La Piragua”. And new from Europe…Maelo Y Su Klan with a catchy, updated version of the song “Espiritualmente” from their most recent recording “Ritmo Y Sabor”.

That’s it for now. Hasta la promima!!
