This week, Sabiduria Con Tumbao featured a 1993 interview with the late, prolific Record Producer/Multi-instrumentalist/Composer/Arranger Louie Ramirez (pictured left) and vocalist Ray De La Paz to inaugurate our new Producer’s Corner series. Louie recalled hilarious stores from his days as staff producer for Fania Records, his illustrious history, musicianship and his interactions with famed artists such as Tito Puente, Tito Rodriguez, La Lupe, Hector Lavoe and others. The Six at 6 pm featured a tribute to “El Sonero Mayor”..Ismael Rivera! Ismael was known for his distinctive voice and his unique approach to the soneo! The tribute featured a few of his greatest hits along with his collaborations with Rafael Cortijo and Celia Cruz recorded live during a Fania All Stars concert. Here is the playlist:
