Sabiduria Con Tumbao turned the spotlight on one of the finest soneros in Salsa…the amazing Herman Olivera who is nicknamed “El Sonero Del Siglo XXI”. For those who are not familiar with the term, a Sonero is a singer that can improvise his lyrics on the spot. I interviewed Herman on his history with the greats such as Manny Oquendo and Libre, Johnny Pacheco, the past twenty years with el maestro Eddie Palmieri and his solo career. His collaborations with Descarga Boricua, trombonist Jimmy Bosch, Javier Fernandez Big Band, the late Jose Lugo, producer Isidro Infante and others.
