Tempo Latino-Europe’s #1 Outdoor Latin Music Festival 2021..and PMO will be there!

SF Bay area’s own Pacific Mambo Orchestra will open for Los Van Van at the kickoff for the annual outdoor Tempo Latino Festival on Friday, July 30, 2021 in picturesque Vic Fezensac, France. This year’s festival was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic. The producers of the festival who are made up of village residents are going to present some of the acts scheduled for this year including Los Van Van and PMO . Among those acts that were scheduled to play this year, Cuba’s Interactivo and the London Afrobeat Orchestra are also scheduled to play on Saturday, July 31, 2021. A great double bill of exceptional Cuban singing stars featuring Issac Delgado and Alain Perez have been added to close out the festival on Sunday, Aug. 1, 2021. Salsa, Son and Latin Jazz bands play free during the day on the Bullfight plaza grounds which includes La Conga that features a live band and dj’s from Midnight until 6 am..

Tempo Latino is three days full of Salsa, Son, Timba, Rumba, Mambo, Latin Jazz, Latin alternative and much more. Not only is the main festival which showcases the headlining acts in a state of the art sound and video setting inside of a bullfight ring but the entire small town of Vic Fezensac is transformed into a salsa village complete with an art’s fair, food booths, cafes and venues presenting dj’s, dance instructors, Salsa and Cuban film showings, special daily happenings and free bands at Le Conga and stages around the outside of the bullring arena for 3 days.

It’s quite an experience to check out! I know first hand from the performer’s perspective since I was invited to DJ there on the festival grounds a few years ago. It was quite an adrenaline rush to play in front of over 10,000 partying folks at La Conga. It as quite a memorable moment in my live DJ career. I came back the next year to see my heroes Ruben Blades, Willie Rosario, Yuri Buenaventura and Plena Libre perform.

I hung out with my good Spanish friend Abili Roma who has been active in the Latin scene for many years and representing El Septeto Santiaguero. I was blown away by El Septeto Santiaguero’s amazing talent. Tempo Latino is the scene to check out in Europe in the summertime. Hopefully, a cure and vaccine can be found for the coronavirus by the time the festival starts in late July 2021. Based on that hope and in that spirit, Tempo-Latino would be a welcome blast back to a positive reality for those who travel.
