This week, I had the pleasure of interviewing Cuban percussion phenom Calixto Oviedo and his wife, vocalist Lily Hernandez on the program. Calixto who was the drummer/percussionist for Timba legends NG La Banda and has enjoyed a fine solo career in Europe and the US shared his new recording “Latin Funk” which features Hernandez. They will be each coming out with new recordings early in the coming year. I also gave a Six at 6 pm segment tribute to Fania All Star bassist and Salsa great Bobby Valentin featuring some of his top danceable hits.
