This week, I featured an interview with the adventurous Cuban pianist Omar Sosa (pictured far right w/Gustavo Ovalles, Yillian Canizares and yours truly, Luis Medina left to right taken at Yoshi’s 2/20) who continues to travel the world despite the Coronavirus pandemic. Omar was in the SF Bay Area to participate in two livestreams which featured his collaboration with two different sets of musicians. He is releasing a new recording “An East African Journey” in March. I also included a tribute to one of my favorite jazz pianists, the iconic Chick Corea who passed away earlier this month.
