Here is the playlist of my last Con Sabor program on KPFA for Saturday, November 23rd. I will be broadcasting live again during Thanksgiving/Indigenous Peoples Day Weekend on Saturday, November 30th from 9 to 11 PM PST on KPFA 94.1 FM and worldwide on the net at www.kpfa.org. I also celebrated the birthday of piano icon (and el maestro Eddie Palmieri’s brother), the late, great Charlie Palmieri with a few choice tracks throughout the program.

It’s Carnaval Time in the streets of San Francisco. The 46th Annual Carnaval San Francisco will take place this Saturday, May 25th and Sunday, May 26th. The theme for this year is “Honoring Indigenous Roots”. Dr. Rigoberta Menchú Tum, Nobel Peace Prize Laureate of 1992, is this year’s Grand Marshal of the Parade. The festival will feature four headliners on various stages including the hot Salsa-Timba-HipHop-Reggaeton hybrid of Pirulo Y La Tribu from Puerto Rico, Mexican Regional recording star Noel Torres, the infectious Punta sounds of Banda Blanca whose huge hit “Sopa De Caracol” is a party classic and the smooth Cuban crooner Franco will be singing his repertoire of timeless romantic classics.
