Things to check out in your in the mood for Salsa, Latin Jazz, and more this weekend. Brazilian star vocalist/pianist and recording artist Elaine Elias will perform this Sunday at her closing night of a four night stand at the SF JAZZ center in SF at 7 PM. Elias is always an exciting and engaging performer whether she’s singing in a Bossa nova mood to displaying her piano virtuosity on a Jazzy interlude. For tickets and Info: www.sfjazz.org…….Local favorites Julio Bravo y Salsabor will play at Jaffe Events “Salsa By The Bay’s” last gig this season at Building 43 Winery, 2440 Monarch Street in Alameda at 2 PM. Dance lessons with Rasa Vitalia…..Orquesta Taino headlines the Sunday session at the Seahorse in Sausalito. Con Clave/KPOO DJ Jose Ruiz will spin in between the live sets…..Down south at Mama Kin, it will be the salsa dura of Jeri Quiñones y Su Combo Klasico. Robert Santana gives dance lessons at 5 pm. DJ Candela on the one’s and two’s in this Sunday hot spot located at 374 South First Street in San Jose.

Carlos Xavier continues to go for it with his latest collaboration on record. This time with Luis Enrique, el Principe De La Salsa on the snazzy “Bailo Vivo Y Gozo”. Xavier sounds inspired and on fire. Luis Enrique adds fuel to the fire on this Salsa release….Also check out Manny Martinez and his latest recording “Evolution” . More on that later…
