Superstar vocalist Luis Enrique “El Principe De La Salsa” (pictured left) and Peruvian salseros Josimar Y Su Yambu will now replace Victor Manuelle as headliners for the rescheduled dance at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Burlingame on Saturday, April 9th. Manuelle’s original date in early February was moved due to the county restrictions due to the COVID crisis but the updated lineup was announced last week. Legendary vocalist Charlie Aponte, formerly of El Gran Combo will be performing at Roccapulco on Friday, April 1st. Pepe Y Su Orquesta will be opening the show for this Jaffe Events production. Speaking about Roccapulco,,,salsa ambassadors Guayacan Orquesta from Colombia will be making a rare SF appearance at the venue on Friday, May 13th.

Cuban acts coming to the Bay: Look out for ex-Los Van Van vocalist Yeny Valdes and her band to headline the next Fresquecito party on Saturday, March 12 at Oakland’s La Furia Chalaca, 310 Broadway near Jack London Square. Yeny will be supported by the Fresquecito DJ’s Walt Digz and Pepe Timba behind the decks…..Combinacion De La Habana under the direction of Gerson Valdes, the nephew of renowned pianist Chucho Valdes will visit San Francisco’s Roccapulco on Saturday, March 5th. CDLH is fronted by six young high energy vocalists who forte is Timba Cubana mixed in with Salsa Dura and Reggaeton. And if that wasn’t enough, “El Tren De Cuba” Los Van Van and the popular Alexander Abreu y Havana d’Primera bring their monster double bill to SF around Cinco De Mayo time….There are rumors that a tour featuring Cesar “Pupy” Pedroso Y Los Que Son Son with special guest El Noro will be stopping in the SF Bay Area this summer.

Last but not least….the popular Ahi Na Ma Cuban Thursday nights featuring Rueda dance lessons by Sean and featuring DJ’s Leydis and Antonio have moved from the defunct Lukas to Zanzi which is located down the block at 19 Grand Avenue in Oakland. Check out their pages on Instagram and Facebook.
