Shelley Drive in San Francisco’s Excelsior District from 2 to 6 pm on Saturday, October 8th….Mario Y Su Timbeko bring their timba drenched sounds to Golden Gate Park’s Music Bandshell from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm this Saturday, October 8th.…. And if that wasn’t enough…Calle Ocho will bring their Afro Cuban sounds to the Rockridge Rock-N-Stroll this Saturday afternoon starting at 1:30 pm at the Rockridge BART Plaza, 5660 College Avenue in Berkeley. It’s rare that you see three free events happen in one day but go out there and support good live music!

The 14th San Francisco Latino Film Festival starts this coming Friday, Oct 7th at 7 pm with the screening of the music documentary “Jose Feliciano-Behind The Guitar” at the Opera Plaza Cinema in San Francisco. Another live offering will be the documentary “Cuba My Soul” which focuses on the challenge of traditional Cuban music to stay relevant in the age of foreign styles and a disinterested youth. The film which screens on October 13, 7 pm at the Opera Plaza paint a tantalizing portrait of Cuban music, past and present. The festival that runs until Oct. 22 will offer both live screenings which start on the 7th and a virtual festival that you can access on your smart devices that will run from Oct. 12 through the 22nd.
