New SF Bay Recordings to start off 2019.

The Latin Rhythm Boys are celebrating their 60th anniversary on their new release “Celebrando”.   The band leaders are the brother duo of Earl and Henry Miranda who are carrying on the tradition of their father “El Cuatrista’ Junior Miranda who founded the band in 1959.  The current version of the band boasts an infectious Jibaro Salsa sound that is trombone heavy and swings with plenty of cuatro.  Among the fine musicians collaborating on the new album is their late cousin, multi-instrumentalist Johnny Polanco, flautist Artie Webb,  singer/producer Willy Torres,  trombonist Jimmy Bosch, PMO trumpeter Steffen Kuehn, timbalero Chino Nunez, legendary percussionist Louie Romero, percussionist Christian Pepin and vocalist Eduardo Herrera.  “Celebrando” will keep you dancing from beginning to end!……Vocalist Carlos Xavier has released his new recording “Vive Todo Ahora”.  Singer/Songwriter Xavier possesses a soaring voice that is tailored for his fresh, sophisticated original compositions that are both smooth and explosive.  Xavier has already established himself as a powerful vocalist with Orquesta Borinquen and is featured on their impressive 2017 recording “Pa Que Tu Lo Sepas”.  “Vive Todo Ahora” was produced and arranged by pianist Efrain “Junito” Davila and vocal arrangements were handled by former RMM recording artist Guianko Gomez…….The hot Latin Jazz sextet Tribu has put out an exciting new recording “El Matador”.  This recording features this ensemble of fine players consisting of vibraphonist Daniel Casini, saxophonist Ruben Salcido, bassist Marcus Lopez, Mario Solomon on drums and timbales, Jesus Gonzalez on congas and the renowned keyboardist Steve McQuarry who has performed with Dizzy Gillespie and Claire Fischer.  Adding spice to the mix is noted Cuban percussionist Erick Barberia also contributes bata drums and shakere.  The seductive title track will wet your appetite to check out more of Tribu’s original Latin Jazz.
