The Pre-Valentines Day Dance-Concert this Sat. 2/11/23 in Oakland Preview

This Saturday night, February 11th is shaping up to be quite a show for the 3rd Annual Pre-Valentines Day Dance-Concert at the classic Art Deco California Ballroom, 1736 Franklin Street in Oakland. The show produced by Montuno Productions will be featuring gorgeous voice of Jessy Diaz (pictured left-photo by Luis Medina) who was the sensation of the Bay Area Latin Jazz Festival in Castro Valley last August when she was featured during the tribute to the legendary Mario Bauzà. Diaz will perform the opening set accompanied by pianist Jose Manuel Garcia to put everyone in the Valentines Day mood promptly at 8 pm. Doors open at 7 PM.

The Montuno Productions All Star Salsa Project led by Grammy Award winning percussionist Christian Pepin and featuring vocalist Carlos Rosario will be performing classic Salsa Dura for the dancers. The MP All Star Salsa Project is an impressive big band that features a who’s who of great musicians from the San Francisco Bay Area/Northern California Latin scene.

The Latin Rhythm Boys, a 12 piece trombone heavy Salsa orchestra is led by brother duo Earl and Henry Miranda who hold down the coro duties for the band. LRB know how to keep the party going with their exciting and irresistible Puerto Rican salsa sound with an irresistible swing. The Latin Rhythm Boys will be performing selections from their fine latest recording entitled Celebrando. The public always gravitate to the dance floor once the band starts playing.

I will be in the mix as the Master Of Ceremonies and Dj for the evening playing a mix of great music for your listening and dancing pleasure in-between the sets. Yaqueline Y Su Sabor Cubano will have delicious Cuban food available at the venue. For tickets and information, visit www.montunoproductions.com or phone (510) 586-3215.
