Catching Up with Karl Perazzo of Santana and more!

I recently interviewed percussion phenom and timbalero for Santana, Karl Perazzo on my KPFA Radio program Con Sabor. He is quite a busy man…I caught up to him while he is in Las Vegas for rehearsals for Santana’s upcoming slew of shows at the House Of Blues. In addition to his busy schedule with Santana, Karl has other projects during his spare time that include the SF based all-star Salsa band Karabali as well as guest appearances with Salsa Caliente that kept him busy during the COVID.

Happy New Year/Feliz Año Nuevo! I hope that this New Year will see us moving past this dark COVID period. Especially for my friends, colleagues and artists that I work with and admire in Music and Media. The Music industry (which I’m a part of as a live DJ and event MC) is still hurting due to the ongoing COVID pandemic which will hopefully end soon or will evolve into something that we may have to deal with for a long time. I am facing this period with hope, optimism, courage and the tenacity needed to move forward no matter what.
